SPICY CHEESE AND TOMATO DIP


125 g (4 oz) Cheddar or Cheshire cheese, grated


50 g (2 oz) butter or margarine, softened


1 small onion, skinned and finely grated


5 ml (1 level tsp) mustard powder


15 ml (1 tbsp) tomato ketchup


30 ml (2 tbsp) single cream


few drops of Worcestershire sauce


pinch of cayenne pepper


1. In a bowl, beat together the cheese and butter with a wooden spoon.


2. Mix in the onion, add the mustard powder, tomato ketchup, cream, Worcestershire sauce


and season with cayenne pepper. Mix well.


3. Transfer to a serving dish and chill.


Serves 4
