Tart lemon jelly drop shot

“FOR ADULTS ONLY! These are so delicious and one of my all time favorite party treats. Enjoy responsibly!”


Ingredients:


  • 4 cups

    water

  • 8 large

    lemons, cut into 8 wedges each

  • 3 1/2 cups

    white sugar

  • 8 (.25 ounce) packages

    unflavored gelatin

  • 4 cups

    lemon vodka

  • 1 tablespoon

    turbinado sugar

Directions:


  • Heat water , lemon slices and white sugar in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook over low heat until sugar dissolves , kneading lemons often to release the juice and oil.

  • Cook and stir the lemon mixture for 5 minutes more , then remove from heat and let cool slightly . Strain the lemon pieces from the pan .

  • Sprinkle the gelatin in a saucepan .

  • Heat syrup and gelatin mixture over low heat until gelatin is dissolved , about 5 to 10 minutes.

  • Remove from heat and let cool for 15 minutes . Pour lemon vodka into gelatin mixture and stir well.

  • Pour the mixture into a 9×13 -inch baking pan ; refrigerate until set , at least 6 hours.

  • Run a sharp knife under hot water ; reduce gelatin cubes with a knife and sprinkle with turbinado sugar cubes just before serving .
